HAVANA

HAPPY SAINT VALENTINE’S DAY! The book party will take place at its usual main headquarters in the cultural complex Morro Cabaña, one of the America’s oldest standing fortresses. Other spaces will be the sub–headquarters, Pabellón Cuba, and some squares of the Historical Center of Old Havana, an area that was declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site.

Fairground doors open at 10am, so after breakfast get ready to visit the main venue. Enjoy the site and meet people who share your love for books. At noon, your guide and driver will pick you up to take you to have lunch at a local private paladar.

After lunch, take your bottle of water in hand and walk along Obispo, a famous street where you will explore the urban fabric of Havana and may find several bookstores with hidden literary talent that you will not find almost anywhere.

Continue walking up to the Central Park and prepare to explore Modern Havana. Do it in style! The finest and most elegant American classic cars will take you on a panoramic tour of emblematic places in Havana like the Revolution Square. Drive around the outskirts of the lush Almendares Park, the Malecón, the seafront promenade, Vedado and Nuevo Vedado districts, and the Colon Cemetery. This unforgettable old car tour will take almost two hours and end at your accommodation’s door. Take some time to relax and be ready at 8:30PM, to enjoy a lovely dinner accompanied with live music to celebrate friendship and love.

HAVANA

Rise and shine! Finish your succulent breakfast and get ready. On this day you will visit the National Library Jose Marti, named after our national hero. This institution is more than a century old. It is the repositary of the documentary, bibliographic, artistic, and sound heritage treasure of Cuba, as well as the most representative of universal culture. It offers researchers, students, teachers, and readers in general the possibility of interacting with Cuban cultural, scientist and artist creation to increase the contribution to national and universal culture. Enjoy time at the library and later on have lunch at a local private paladar.

In the afternoon visit the other venues. We highly recommend Pabellón Cuba as it offers a concert program of excellence during the bookfair. Return to accomodation at convenience. Your driver and guide will inform pick up time for dinner. After dinner return to accomodation for a nice rest.

STAYING CONNECTED IN CUBA

If you are visiting the island and staying on your own, you will probably find that most of the private casas in Cuba do not have wi-fi service available, so guests usually go to the nearest hotels, buy an internet card and access the service in the hotel lobby. If this is too complicated for you, CUBACELTUR has the perfect solution. You can get a temporary phone line with internet access plans for an additional cost.

Note that CUBACELTUR is a service offered by ETECSA, the Cuban telephone operator. Sagua Services & Travel does not benefit from this operator. It only provides information for its clients.
